Why do have to pay extra for films in 3D or HFR?
Films projected in 3D incur extra costs for the cinema's owner. Significant investments are being made in the most advanced 3D technology, the thorough cleaning of Dolby 3D glasses that are reusable after each screening and the costs linked to 3D projection itself. That is why a ticket for a 3D film costs more than a standard cinema ticket. Viewers with a Movie Card, Family Card or a cinema voucher must also pay extra if they want to see a film in 3D. In principle, viewers always have the choice of normal screening or a 3D screening. That is to say, between purchasing a normal ticket or a ticket that costs a little extra for 3D.
Kinepolis invests in technological infrastructure that enables films to be played in HFR. Projections in 3D HFR bring an extra dimension to viewers and an unparalleled experience, compared to 3D. HFR is a cinema format that is rather exclusive, that you will not find everywhere, which justifies the extra cost. Kinepolis also anticipates by investingin ULTRA Laser technology that revolutionises vision and audio quality standards. ULTRA Laser combines a Barco laser projector with exceptional brightness and image clarity with Dolby Atmos immersive audio. Never before have films seemed so real to you. The innovative combination of these pieces of technology plunges viewers into the film. This incredible new experience has a price. The extra cost also enables us to cover part of the investment. Here too, viewers have the choice of seeing the film in ULTRA Laser or not. They can choose a normal screening or an ULTRA Laser screening. If a room has immersive sound but no laser projector, then only that technology will be offered.
