LUXFILMLAB

Every first Wednesday of the month, the LuxFilmLab - a joint initiative of the Luxembourg City Film Festival and Kinepolis - spotlights a work chosen in consultation with the LuxFilmFest team and the Kinepolis programming team.

One of the Festival's representatives will introduce this unique session, with the ambition to support and accompany works whose temporality does not allow them to be presented within the strict framework of the Festival, but whose qualities would have made them likely to be selected.

Schwesterherz / The Good Sister
German version with English subtitles
Wednesday, June 3rd - 8.00pm - Ciné Utopia

Synopsis:
How well do you really know the person closest to you? Rose has a close relationship with her older brother Sam. He has always supported her and even lets her stay at his place after her relationship ends. But everything changes when Sam is accused of a serious sexual crime and Rose is asked to testify against him. Her trust in him starts to break down. While trying to choose between loyalty to her brother and her own conscience, she begins to wonder if she ever truly knew Sam.

The Luxembourg City Film Festival’s chilling—and thrilling—new label, Late Night Bizarre, features films that will have you trembling in your seat. Horror, fiction, and fantasy collide in a strange and captivating ballet during the latter part of the evening, once night has already fallen. It is an experience to be had alone or with company in one of the festival’s comfortable cinemas, for high-flying thrills!

Late Night Bizarre will highlight films that do not necessarily horror fall into the horror genre but that do contain elements of the surreal, the fantastic, the supernatural and the downright weird.
